A 15-minute music play session without extra supplies

Children do not need a large set of supplies to start making music. A short rhythm of listening, moving, and trying again is enough.

1. Start by exploring sound

Use the first five minutes to notice sounds without looking for a right answer. Open Instrument Zoo or Tap the Drums, then compare long and short or high and low sounds.

2. Move the beat into the body

For the next five minutes, keep a steady beat with claps or steps. Build a short pattern with the rhythm cards, then copy the child's pattern exactly so the activity feels like a musical conversation.

3. Leave a small idea for tomorrow

In the final five minutes, name one favorite sound and one thing to change next time. The lesson sets also provide a goal and a ready-to-copy curriculum connection for teachers.
